2024 ART IDAHO COMPETITION
August 3 - October 26, 2024
TAM’s 13th biennial statewide juried competition and exhibition celebrates the diverse interpretive vision of Idaho artists from across the state. ART Idaho is open to all artists currently residing in Idaho.
HOW TO APPLY TO ART IDAHO
ELIGIBILITY
ART Idaho is open to all artists currently residing in Idaho. All interpretations and mediums will be considered. 2-D and 3-D works are welcome. Entries must be original, entirely the work of the entrant, and created without the supervision of an art instructor. The work may not have been previously exhibited at TAM and must have been completed in the last two year.
FEES
$45 for first entry, $15 for second entry. *Please note that the ART Idaho fee is non-refundable and the artist is responsible for all shipping costs.
METHOD OF ENTRY
Entries for ART Idaho must be received on a labeled thumb drive or through Google Docs Form by Saturday, June 22, 2024. Initial jurying will be from digital images. Each artist may submit a maximum of two pieces. The quality of the image is extremely important. The juror will make selections based solely upon the digital files submitted. If selected, the work may be reproduced in exhibition publications using the digital files submitted. Any accepted work that differs in quality or is inconsistent with the image, may be disqualified at TAM’s discretion. Submitted thumb drives will not be returned. Click here for entry form.
DIGITAL FILES
Each image must be formatted as a jpg or tiff with a resolution of 300 dpi. All images must be contained on one thumb drive or be submitted through Google Doc Form. Each digital image must be named Artist Name, Title of artwork (i.e. John Doe, Untitled) to correspond with the entry form. Thumb drives must be labeled on the outside with artist’s name.
TRANSPORTATION
Artists are responsible for the cost of transporting their work to and from TAM. All accepted entries (both shipped and hand delivered) must arrive at TAM no later than 4 pm Saturday, July 27, 2024. Work delivered after this date will not be accepted. Acceptance notifications will include shipping instructions.
INSURANCE
All accepted work will be insured while at TAM. Artists are responsible for insuring their work while in transit.
INSTALLATION
Artwork must be suitably framed and ready to hang. Sawtooth hangers and wet work will not be accepted. Maximum overall frame size is 6’ in either direction. Gallery wraps and unframable assemblages are acceptable, gallery warped canvases must be 1” in depth. Mats and liners must be neutral in color and undecorated. Artists may not substitute another work for an accepted work, change prices, or withdraw work once accepted.
SALES
Works will be offered for sale at TAM for the stated price unless otherwise indicated. If NFS, insurance value must be declared. TAM will retain a 30% commission on all works sold during the course of the exhibition. Artwork may not be removed prior to the end of the exhibit.
IMPORTANT DATES
• Entries postmarked or delivered to TAM by 4PM, Saturday, June 22, 2024
• Accepted artists and title(s) posted at www.theartmuseum.org/art-idaho and email notifications sent to artists on Wednesday, July 3, 2024
• Accepted artwork delivered to TAM no later than 4PM Saturday, July 27, 2024
• Opening Reception/Awards Ceremony, Saturday, August 3 at 5:30PM
• Last day of exhibit October 26, 2024
• Artists can pick up work between 10AM on Tuesday, October 29 and 5PM on Friday, November 1. Remaining art will be shipped per artists’ instructions the week of November 18, 2024

2024 ART IDAHO JUROR
Dustin Thompson is a ceramic artist currently living in southeastern Idaho. His work combines utilitarian ceramic forms with architectural design. Dustin’s work has been shown in the strictly functional pottery national exhibition, the LDS international art competition, along with other venues. He received his Undergraduate Fine Arts degree from Utah State University, and his Masters of Fine Arts degree from Idaho State University. He worked as an adjunct professor of ceramics at BYU-Idaho, and currently teaches community ceramic classes at The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho.
